Pia Deshpande

Deshpande will work with the CES for one year from July 2021 to July 2022 as an independent researcher and teaching assistant. Prior to her time with the CES she has worked in other academic research settings (the MIT Election Lab, Columbia University, the University of Texas at Austin) and in newsrooms (the Associated Press, POLITICO, CNN). Deshpande is currently applying to graduate programs and hopes to begin a Ph.D. in the Fall 2022. She graduated from Columbia with a B.A. in Political Science in 2020.

Deshpande's research interests include political psychology, race, and education as a pathway to political knowledge.
