Michael Barber is associate professor of political science at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, director of the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy. In 2023, he joined the CES team as Co-Principal Investigator. and associate principal investigator for the Cooperative Congressional Survey. His research focuses on the causes and consequences of ideological polarization in American politics - among both elected officials and the public.
